Ribeira da Laje

Ribeira da Laje is a 16 km long riverside, which starts in Mem Martins, crosses the municipalities of Sintra, Cascais and Oeiras, and flows into the Rio Tejo estuary, in the western part of Praia de Santo Amaro de Oeiras.

Throughout history, this riverside has always had great importance. It served as a recreational marina for the gardens of the Palace of the Marquês de Pombal, and also supplied and served the agricultural exploitation of several farms in Oeiras.
